The Youth’s Companion Collection
This collection consists of 19 issues of The Youth’s Companion published between March 1982 and September 1982 and January 1899 to April 1899. Some issues are missing pages or front covers but overall, in good condition. This collection also includes the September 8, 1892, issue which features the first printed mention of Allegiance to the Flag.
Thomas Bethune Wiggins "Blind Tom" Collection
This collection includes original sheet music, as well as recordings and biographical information about Blind Tom.
Thomas Bogue Slade Letters
The letters are from 1819 and 1897, and are of a personal nature. Included is a newspaper clipping about a Civil War diary and an envelope that possibly contained the letters at some later point in their existence.

Thomas Gilbert Map
This collection consists of a fold-out map of Columbus, Georgia, printed in 1871. Besides the street grid, using the original street names, it shows the location of various sized pipes and cisterns. It also locates prominent places such as the Pest House (hospital), located on the river next to the boat yard, the Gumby Building, the Female Academy, the Villa Reich, the Raiford House, and St. Joseph’s Academy, the African-American cemetery, among others.

This collection is an eclectic assemblage of mostly published secondary materials, including a 78 rpm phonograph record, which reflect French's interests: surveying, archival policy of the University of Alabama, maps, and general history.

Thompson Family Collection
The bulk of these letters appear to be between James M. Thompson and his mother, Mrs. Margaret A. Younger, of Columbus, Georgia, with several to the post-Civil War ones to his wife, Lizzie. Also included are scans of photographs, some identified, of family members, as well as of several steamships. The physical objects metioned below, such as the brown wallet, were returned to the family.
