This collection consists of one 6-page speech given at the laying of the cornerstone for the Confederate Monument by James M. Mosby, Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge of Georgia in 1879.

This collection contains a single issue of the Confederate Veteran magazine from February 1901, Vol. IX, No. 2. The issue contains articles regarding Confederate monuments in Mississippi, Richard B. Alley and his flag, remanence of life and relationships during slavery, spotlights on individuals, and general information on Civil War Veterans reunions and organizations.

Scope and Contents The collection consists primarily of the library (621 volumes) of Absalom Harris Chappell. This library reflects the varied legal and literary (classical and contemporary) interests of a scholarly antebellum attorney.
