This small collection consists of stock certificates, receipts and a deed for lot 314 in Columbus. The majority of the materials have the name William B. Slade as a signature. He was a relative of the J. Rhodes Browne family. The materials are arranged chronologically within each folder . This collection was originally numbered MC 045 at the public library and renumbered MC 317 when the collection was donated to CSU Archives in the fall of 2013.

Jack Stroud Slide Collection

This collection consists of slides taken inside and around the Springer Opera House in Columbus Georgia by Jack Stroud during the 1978 semester as part of a class. A later addition to the collection includes a printed presentation lecture, list and slides of “Courthouses: Southern Style” as well as other slides of the 1st National Bank of Columbus, an Episcopal Church in Talbotton Georgia and Muscogee County Schools among other slides pertaining to the Columbus, Georgia area.

James A. Byars Collection

Scope and Contents

This collection includes correspondence files relating to Columbus textile mill management and civic activities, photographs, calendars, citations and award memorabilia, clippings from trade journals and newspapers and Georgia Institute of Technology alumni lists. In addition there is a small desk from the Eagle and Phenix Mills from about 1878 that is on display in the Archives Reference Room.

James A. Fuller Letters Collection

Scope and Contents This collection contains a series of wartime letters written by James Aaron Fuller from 1862 to 1864. Another letter, written in November 1865, is from Ellen Whiteside to Fuller after the close of the American Civil War.
