William Rawlings/Stocking Strangler Papers
There are 16 boxes of materials in this collection, all having been the research materials used by William Rawlings while writing the book The Stocking Strangler. It includes copies of police reports, interviews, newspaper articles, trial and hearing transcripts, his notes and any information pertinent to the case.
William Smythe Shepard Collection
This small collection of one folder consists of an eclectic assortment of receipts and invoices dating from 1924-1925 and one school promotion certificate from 1943. These papers give a perspective on what shops/businesses were in downtown Columbus at this time and the prices for goods and services ( ex: 13-gals gas for $3.25).
All are related to the estate of Colonel William Shepard, who died in 1924.

This small collection consists of one printed report from 1907 of the 25th Annual Convention, the Jubilee for State Prohibition, that met at St. Luke’s M.E. Church in Columbus, Georgia on October 22-25, 1907. The report contains minutes, reports of officers and superintendents of departments, state plans for 1907-1908, state pledges and state directory.
