Scope and Contents
The second portrait is that of a confederate soldier in the civil War. It is believed to be that of Lock Weems, born in 1835 and died 14 July 1862. He enlisted on 3 July 1861 in the 15th Alabama Regiment. He was wounded 27 Jun 1861 at the Battle of Cold Harbor acting as captain of company A. He died of his wounds in Richmond and is buried in Linwood Cemetery in Columbus.
