Included are a newspaper clipping relating to Johnson Hooper, the author of The Adventures of Simon Suggs (June 19, 1927) and a copy of the address delivered by Miss Mildred Lewis Rutherford of Athens, Georgia, the Historian General of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, 1911-1916, titled The Civilization of the Old South: What Made It: What Destroyed It: What has Replaced It. The address was presented at the Municipal Hall in Dallas,Texas (November 9, 1916).
