The title of this conference was American History Before Columbus: A Public Information Symposium. This folder contains the agenda of the first of what was intended to be annual conferences, as well as a list of attendees, a few of the papers presented, newspaper clippings, and a copy of the by-laws of the soon-to-be incorporated organization. There is also a report of a trip through various sites in the West taken by Ida Jane Gallaher and Norman Totten on behalf of the Wester Epigraphic Society. This first post-incorporation conference was held in Columbus, Georgia at the Columbus Hilton and the Springer Opera House.
