This collection consits of 20 series featuring correspondence, photographs, audio/visual materials, and hand written notes of Col. Richard Hallock during his time in the United States Military. This collection covers his time in Iran, development of RAND, Korea Conflict, World War II, several U.S. Bases including Fort Henry Benning.

Materials Specific Details

Included are copies of Journal of the Armed Forces, June 1968, and April 1982. Along with the journal copies are notes on Schemmer, a copy of "The Structuring of General Purpose Forces," by J.S. Stockfisch and letters between Hallock and Schemmer. Schemmer was looking to Hallock to provide advice on a book he was writing called Because It's There, about engineers and scientists inventing solutions to problems that do not exist.
