Scope and Contents
These papers document the life and political career of Harry Jackson, as well as the family of his wife, Helen Lovein Jackson; his daughter, Helen Jackson Burgin and the family of her husband, Bill. The material is arranged into 4 series and is generally arranged chronologically with each series.
The series are:
Series 1 – Jackson Family
Series 2 – Burgin Family
Series 3 – Memorabilia
Series 4 – Oversized scrapbooks, photos, etc.
There is naturally considerable overlap among the families, but materials were generally left where found.

Processing Information
This folder contains a photo of Harry Jackson at about age 5, two photos of Helen Lovein made in 191923 or 1924, photos of Harry as a member of the Columbus High School football team of 1933, his high school graduation photo, a photo of him in his uniform as a student of the Georgia Military College, an invitation to the Columbus High School Class of 1936 commencement for Helen Lovein; the autographs of Kay Kyser’s band, which played at Jackson’s Junior Prom in 1937, two copies of the 1938 commencement ceremonies of the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (API), now Auburn University, a letter of commendation by the Dean of Engineering, his savings account books of the late 1930s, a letter from the U.S. Treasurer regarding savings bonds, and items relating to Jackson’s membership in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
