Biographical / Historical
Jennie Johnston Des Portes, nee Virginia Margaret Johnston in 1875 in Columbus, Georgia, was the wife of William Lowther Des Portes. He was a surgeon in general practice. They lived at 1212 2nd Ave in Columbus. They had 2 sons, Richard and Calvin Johnston. Calvin married Margaret Garrard and died in 1976 and is buried in Parkhill Cemetery.
Her daybook/diary dates from 1914. She lists her husband’s address at City Drug Store in case of emergency.
