This small collection consists solely of one folder containing a copy of the documentation and history of the Columbus Georgia neighborhood of Wynn’s Hill-Overlook-Oak Circle when the neighborhood was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Photographs are included in the documentation.

Biographical / Historical
The Wynnton neighborhoods of Overlook, Wynn’s Hill and Oak Circle were listed in the National Register of Historic places on May 10, 2005. This area off Wynnton road in Columbus, Georgia is roughly bounded by Bradley Drive, Buena Vista Road, Overlook Avenue, Crest Drive and Oakview Avenue. There are a total of 166 contributing buildings in this neighborhood. The district is located in an area of predominately historic residential developments that were known as Wynnton before its incorporation into the Columbus city limits in 1925. The area is an early mid-20th century Columbus neighborhood that was developed from earlier mid -19th century estates. The house styles exhibited are excellent examples of types and styles built primarily between 1920 and 1955.

This copy of the of Wynn’s Hill-Overlook-Oak Circle Historic District was given to the Columbus State University Archives by Phillip Linn, a resident of the district, June 27, 2014. He obtained his copy from Historic Columbus.
