Tucker Press Award Collection
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of a newspaper clipping named the winner of the 1953 Tucker Press Award as being Richard Haldeman, the sports editor of the Columbus High School paper. He also received a portable typewriter and a personal letter from Nunnally Johnson, the journalist and Hollywood screenwriter.

Biographical / Historical
The William Henry Tucker Press Award was begun around 1938 to honor the work of high school students interested in journalism. It was named for the then-editor of the Columbus Enquirer-Sun, as it was known at the time.
