Biographical / Historical
The Columbus Northern Little League Team represented the Southeast in the Little League World Series played in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania between August 18-23, 2006. A total of sixteen teams from nine different countries participated in a pool-style bracket system ending with the Columbus Northern beating Kawaguchi City from Japan in a 2-1 victory.
The team Manager was Randy Morris and their Coach was Richard Carter, who retired after the 2006 season. Team players included: Kyle Carter, Josh Lester, Cody Walker, J.T. Phillips, Patrick Stallings, Brady Hamilton, Kyle Roving, Matthew Kuhlenberg, Ryan Lang, Mason Meyers, and Matthew Hollis.
Josh Lester was picked in the 13th round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Detroit Tigers in June of 2015. As of 2019, he was assigned to Erie Sea Wolves from the Toledo Mud Hens.
