Processing Information
Processor’s note – Over the years, correspondence was treated in a variety of ways. For example, some years there were separate files for membership-related items and some years such items were filed in with other correspondence. For the sake of consistency, the processor standardized the filing to include membership letters, requests for leaves of absence, resignations, etc. here in Correspondence. Also included are the logistics of the weekly programs, in-coming and out-going correspondence with Kiwanis International, thank-you notes for flowers sent to the sick, instructions to the secretary from Kiwanis International, the annual turning over of bank accounts and safe deposit keys, etc.
There are several on-going activities which recur from year to year, such as the T. Hiram Stanley golf tournament in the spring, the Legion of Honor banquet usually in late August, the Kiwanis International convention usually in June, Georgia District meetings where incoming officers are trained, as well as refresher training for the administrative secretaries, etc.). Materials generated by these events are also filed in the general correspondence folders.
