Scope and Contents
This folder contains newspaper clippings on historic buildings in downtown commercial-cultural district, and the family of Lazarus Straus, the founder of Macy’s Department Store. There are also a few items from the Historic Columbus Foundation. There is also an undated document from the University System of Georgia concerning a proposal to convert the UGA extension classes held in Columbus into a community college. Other items include an announcement of the closing of the Varsity restaurant, and an article on the metal artist Glenn Vaugh.
