Scope and Contents
Among the missions of the Sons of the American Revolution were to keep alive the history and memory of Revolutionary War participants, to support American ideals, to educate the young with such things as annual essay and poster contests, to mark and restore the graves of Revolutionary soldiers, to observe such events as Veterans Day, Flay Day, Constitution Week, the anniversaries of Revolutionary battles (such as Kettle Creek) and local naturalization ceremonies to welcome new citizens. The chapter also had monthly meetings with speakers and presentations, and an annual Christmas banquet.

There are no photos or minutes for the 1995 monthly chapter meetings, but there are announcements for them listing the dates and programs. They were: January 13 1995 - Donald A. Cope, Associate Professor of History at Columbus College February 10 1995 - Circuit Court Judge George R. Green March 10 1995 - Donald C. Bowman, CPA April 14, 1995 - Senator Clay D. Land May 12, 1995 - Dr. Gilbert L. Ramsey, pastor of both St. Paul and St. Luke Methodist churches, and superintendent of the Columbus District of the diocese. June 9, 1995 - LTC Albert N. Garland who had served as Historian and Branch Chief in the Office of the Chief of Military History August 11, 1995 - John S. Lupold, professor of History at Columbus College September 8, 1995 - Dr. Charles J. Mendoza, a professor at Troy State in Fort Benning October 13, 1995 - Mr. John M. Sheftall, an attorney with Hatcher, Smith, Stubbs & Rothschild November 9, 1995 - John T. Smith, Jr., president of the Chattahoochee Historical Commission December 2, 1995 - This was the annual Chapter Meeting and Christmas Dinner Party, held at the Green Island Country Club.
