Scope and Contents
Includes minutes, 1930-1958; reports of officers; membership cards; scrapbooks, 1930-1957; constitutions; by-laws; local, state, and national publications; questionnaires for candidates from various years; voting machines; county unit systems; public/private schools; TB hospital; poll workers and poll watchers material and publications relating to city government. It also contains material about the history of the public library and the debate over moving it from downtown (the 1400 block of Broadway) to the former W. C. Bradley estate. The League opposed the move because of its impact on the mill children. The collection also includes some governmental publications.
