This collection is arranged into two series. The first covers her activities as a member of the board of the Muscogee County School District (MCSD). Among the issues that the school board had to contend with during her tenure were: the change from appointed to elected school boards, the murder of Superintendent John Burns and choosing his successor, on-going desegregation lawsuits and the re-segregation of the public schools in the county. Series 2 covers her activities as the head of the Schwob Memorial Library at Columbus State University as well as other organizations she worked with at the same time, such as the Historic Columbus, Foundation, Leadership Columbus, Columbus Challenge, the Columbus Museum (also known as the Bradley Museum) and the Liberty Theatre Cultural Center.
